Moonveiw Highway intro hills

This is the Sharp curve and the Hills section of Moonview Highway during the intro to the course before the race.

Moonview Highway takes place on a bustling highway with many cars and trucks. if a vehicle runs you over, your kart will be flattened. If you collide with the car, you will flip over. Moonview Highway is the second course in the Special Cup and is considered to be one of if not the hardest course in the game. However, the trucks and cars can be avoided by staying to the middle of the road, close to the dotted lines. After the first right after the start, there are skid marks leading up to a risky shortcut, ending with a boost ramp. It is unknown who owns this track, though it is believed to be Rosalina's judging by the name.

Layout[]

Moonview Highway is split into two sections; a 2-lane Highway and a 4-lane City, with a line of toll booths separating each area. The starting line is at the beginning of the Highway area. Immediately after starting, there is a sharp 95-degree right, quickly followed by another in the opposite direction. This leads into a gentle S-turn with a grass patch inside the right curve. The next corner is an uphill right harpin with a moderate left exit followed by a short red suspension bridge. A gentle right leads to the first straight, as well as the first line of toll booths. At this point, the road widens to 4 lanes and traffic increases in speed. The next turn is an approximate 55 degree right leading to the second straight. At 150cc this straight is easily drifted through with a kart or non-sport bike. The final right 100 degree turn leads into a tunnel with a downward slope on the final straightaway. About 2/3 down this straight, the road returns to 2 lanes for the final toll booth ending the City section and closely followed by the starting line.

Trivia[]

  • Traffic never crosses the center line.
  • Every vehicle model has a different number plate that contains a reference of some sort (e.g. W1-1, 1-UP, etc.)
